Whether through group discussions, personal reflections, or creative expression, this activity encourages you to build confidence by recognising the skills and qualities that make you resilient. You’ll also have the chance to connect with peers, share stories, and learn how understanding your strengths can contribute to your overall well-being.

First, get inspired

Listen to the top teen mental health and wellness podcast to dive deep into teen mental health by engaging with various individuals, including mental health experts, celebrities, athletes, and other teens.

Watch Brené Brown’s TED Talk on The Power of Vulnerability, which explores how acknowledging strengths and weaknesses builds resilience and confidence.

Watch English football player Micah Richard's talk about his experiences of how talking is a strength.

Now, take action!

By completing the following activities, you’ll explore your strengths and learn how they contribute to your mental health. This will help you build resilience and confidently face future challenges.
  • Explore your strengths: Join small, peer-led group sessions where you explore and share your strengths in a supportive, relaxed environment. The smaller group size encourages open conversation and reduces anxiety, helping you feel more comfortable sharing your experiences.
  • Use personal reflection journal: If you prefer private reflection, complete a guided journaling activity that helps you explore your strengths. You’ll write about moments when you used your strengths to overcome difficulties or reach personal goals. This option is great for those hesitant to share in a group setting.
  • Everyone is creative. Use Adobe's Creative Types test to find out your strengths in applying creativity to solve everyday challenges. If talking about your strengths feels challenging, this creative test offers a fun way to engage with this process.
