Plan a youth work advocacy campaign

Djòin

Kontenido

Engage in a meaningful advocacy action: plan a youth work advocacy campaign.

Follow the advocacy campaign planning sheet to prepare a proposal for the youth work advocacy campaign. Produce samples of advocacy campaign content, activities and products.

Your campaign plan should include at least the following:
  • Target group. Who is the primary and secondary beneficiary of the advocacy campaign?
  • Topics. What needs and rights does the campaign address?
  • Message. What is the main campaign message?
  • Stakeholders. Who are the stakeholders you want to influence through the campaign?
  • Tactics. Which tactics will you use to achieve impact?
  • Content & Activities. What advocacy content and activities (in-person and online) do you need to produce/organise?

We recommend working with a team who cares about the advocacy campaign.

Inspiring resources:

Awero organisation created this educational resource and activity for the youth worker training course on networking and advocating.

This activity supports youth workers' competence development in the "Networking and Advocating" area. Activity content and badge issuing criteria aligned with the European Training Strategy (ETS) competence model for youth workers to work internationally:
  • Willingness to collaborate with other actors and stakeholders;
  • Appreciation of the added value of new partnership and collaboration opportunities;
  • Knowledge of the needs of the community;
  • Knowledge of youth policy and youth work in one’s own context;
  • Being able to identify relevant partners in different environments (especially in an international setting);
  • Knowledge of advocacy approaches and methods in a youth work context;
  • Readiness to allow being confronted with other views and work approaches;
  • Knowledge of the socio-political and economic background of the young people;
  • Knowledge about media and promotion mechanisms with regard to youth work, as well as rules and regulations, including copyright;
  • Ability to create and disseminate digital contents as videos, podcasts, memes, digital presentation formats etc.
