So you just had facilitating experience? We encourage you to always take time and review that experience together with your co-facilitators.
We present you here a couple of methods you may use in reviewing, evaluating and concluding the experience in your team of facilitators.

AFTER-ACTION REVIEW (AAR)

''AARs are a simple way for individuals and teams to learn immediately, from both successes and failures ... the format is very simple and quick ... In an open and honest meeting, usually no longer than twenty minutes, each participant in the event answers four simple questions:

1) What was supposed to happen?
2) What actually happened?
3) Why were there differences?
4) What did we learn?
5) What are remaining questions or dilemmas ( about your as facilitator role?)

3P – Product, Procedure/Process and People

The triangle of the three Ps – product, procedure and people – represents the different poles that any team needs to consider in its work. Many teams tend to focus on the product, on the result to be achieved, as this seems to be the most effective way to work given that time is always limited. However, it is in making sure that the different factors are in equilibrium that teams could enhance training. Attention to the individual team members is important.

3P teamwork aspects

This exercise is to help you reflect on your teamwork: the preparation; running the workshop; and feedback you got from other participants.
In a team, different members pay more or less attention to these three main aspects. You can use this model for teamwork evaluation in the following way:
a. Draw a big 3P triangle on the A3 paper
b. Each member of team scores the 3 P’s
c. Then each member explains their reasons for the scores
d. Have a discussion in the team about lessons learned in their work together and what they would do differently next time.
e. Prepare a couple of minutes “report” to be shown to all others. This should show your agreed “highlight” and “lowlight” from the preparation, running and feedback from the workshop process: as a sketch; song; sculpture; etc – it’s your choice.
